53-year-old Trevor Redmond from Nova Scotia is travelling across Canada on a mission to motivate others to be active. He has walked an impressive 11,421 km, taking over 15 million steps, and cycling 14,632 km, with his wheels spinning 7 million times each, covering a total of 31,353 km across Canada to date. His initiative of travelling across Canada by running, walking and cycling is inspiring people to move and do what they need to.

My Sister's Place, a not-for-profit organization, provides a safe and supportive environment for women and their children affected by violence and abuse. Since its founding in 1987, the organization has served the South Simcoe community in Ontario, offering both residential and outreach services in collaboration with local partners. The team at My Sister's Place is made up of dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to encourage, educate, and empower women and their children as they rebuild their lives.

What began as a tenth birthday wish has grown into an annual tradition for Grace Gibson. For the fifth consecutive year, Grace and her friend Bailey Paxman recently loaded a car with warm blankets, coats, thick socks, and snacks, heading to the streets of downtown Edmonton to help those in need during a cold spell. Joined by Grace’s mother, Angie Gibson, the group distributed hot coffee alongside clean, dry clothing and other essential items to individuals experiencing homelessness. Grace, now 14, remains committed to making a difference, believing that everyone deserves warmth and care during the harsh winter months.

During a cold snap in February 2015, Stuart Hall noticed many social media posts from Saskatchewan residents seeking help with stalled vehicles. Recognizing the need for a community-based solution, he created the 306 Recovery Group, a Facebook community where people could ask for assistance and others could step in to help. Within 24 hours of its launch, the group attracted over 300 members, and by the end of its first week, it had grown to more than 1,300. Since then, the group has continued to grow steadily, becoming a vital resource for Saskatchewan motorists.

Ed Murray of Cranbrook, B.C., is one of eight proud recipients of the 2024 Wishbone Award, a national honour celebrating community heroes. For decades, Ed has been at the heart of an annual turkey dinner tradition for seniors in his community. Partnering with the local Rotary Club, volunteers, food sponsors, and a chef, he helps serve 450 meals each year at the Columbo Center. Tickets are sold for just $5, with all proceeds going to charity. The 2024 event will mark the 41st dinner, continuing a tradition started by the late George Georgopoulos of the Cranbrook Rotary Club. Ed has worked tirelessly to preserve this legacy, ensuring seniors enjoy a festive meal and connection every holiday season.
