Scotiabank Commits $3 Million to Support Local Atlantic Communities

Scotiabank has committed $3 million to support communities across Atlantic Canada through partnerships with non-profit organizations offering programs focused on economic resilience.

The $3 million investment is part of the Bank’s ScotiaRISE initiative, which supports communities by improving high school and post-secondary participation, removing career barriers, and promoting economic inclusion for newcomers.

ScotiaRISE has teamed up with Dalhousie University to support the new College of Digital Transformation, which offers training for groups that are often underrepresented in management and computer science careers. The Banks’s association with United Way in Atlantic Canada supports people living in poverty. Their goal is to ensure everyone has access to the programs and services they need to succeed.

Since 2021, ScotiaRISE has partnered with over 300 organizations worldwide and has contributed more than $150 million. The ScotiaRISE initiative has over 30 active partnerships in Atlantic Canada, including associations with the Janeway Children’s Hospital Foundation, Easter Seals Nova Scotia, Hope Blooms, the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation, Junior Achievement New Brunswick, the Nova Scotia Community College, and The Prep Academy.
