The community bonfire, organized by Planet Youth in partnership with the Town of Kirkland Lake, brought together local youth and created a sense of warmth and connection at Civic Park on Oct. 24.

Volunteers and members of the North Action Team from the Town of Kirkland Lake, Northeastern Public Health, and KL Pride gathered to enjoy an evening of outdoor fun. The event aimed to create a safe, positive space for everyone in the community as participants connected face-to-face, had fun, and bonded through recreational activities.

More than 30 local children and teenagers came together for an evening that featured lawn games, good food, and a lively campfire atmosphere that encouraged connection on a cool autumn night.

Planet Youth Timiskaming North is a community-based initiative aimed at supporting youth well-being and preventing substance use by strengthening local connections and providing healthy, meaningful activities. The bonfire was one of several community engagement events planned for the fall season.
