Kitchener’s Annual Event Helps Fight Food Insecurity

The annual event in Kitchener, Ontario, called Tiny Home Takeout’s Hunger No More, gave people the chance to enjoy street food while raising funds for those facing food insecurity.

On September 14, 2025, people gathered on Duke Street in Kitchener for Tiny Home Takeout’s annual Hunger No More event. The day featured food from local restaurants, live music, and a silent auction, giving the community a fun way to enjoy great food while supporting people in need.

Now in its fifth year, the Duke Street event was free for everyone, with more than 20 local chefs sharing samples of their dishes. Donations were welcomed, and every dollar raised will further Tiny Home Takeout’s mission of serving dignified meals to anyone in need.

The annual food festival raises money for a local program that provides fresh meals to anyone in need. Volunteers distribute food from Tiny Home Takeout windows at St. Mary’s Church and another Kitchener location several evenings a week, feeding hundreds of people each night. The event not only brings the community together but also gives everyone a chance to support the fight against hunger.

People who could not attend were invited to join an online auction, where they could bid on items ranging from a photography package to cottage stays and even a yacht trip.
