The Boys and Girls Club (BGC) of Moncton raised $400,000 to unveil a new community kitchen to fight food insecurity in New Brunswick. The Medavie Foundation Community Kitchen will not only serve hot meals six days a week, but it will also expand on the BGC’s cooking programs.
The youth organization in New Brunswick ran a fundraiser to collect $400,000 with the help of its volunteers, community members, the Medavie Foundation, and other organizations to open the Community Kitchen.
This new community kitchen aims to teach young people how to cook simple, healthy meals and shop for food without spending too much money. Additionally, there are also plans to create programs in which different generations can learn together, giving the youth more confidence and skills. With a dream to have a zero-hunger community, the Boys and Girls Club of Moncton provides daily meals to those who need them the most.
The club invited community members and donors to the recent unveiling of the community kitchen. If you would like to get involved and help the youth club, please visit BGC Moncton’s website.
