Walmart Canada has launched its annual giving campaign to raise funds to support disaster relief in communities across the country.
Walmart is encouraging its customers in Canada to donate to the Red Cross during July by donating both in-store and online at Walmart.ca. The money raised will go towards disaster assistance, which could include emergency housing, food, clothing, and personal belongings for Canadians affected by crises.
Support from Walmart’s associates and customers is helping build stronger and more resilient communities at a time when Canadians have been forced from their homes in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario due to wildfires. Walmart Canada has helped raise more than $77 million for the Red Cross over the past 22 years.
The alliance between Walmart Canada and the Red Cross helps provide essential relief items and services to people in the immediate days following an emergency as well as during recovery. Since 1994, Walmart Canada has raised and donated more than $850 million to Canadian charities.
