The Lobster and Seafood Lovers community of Kingston, Ontario, is celebrating three decades of the annual all-you-can-eat Lobsterfest, which features seafood, entertainment, live music, dancing, a 50/50 draw, and an auction. The money raised through the event is donated to charities.
Lobsterfest 2025 has chosen Partners in Mission Food Bank and Youth Diversion as the charities of choice for this year. The annual event features fresh lobsters from New Brunswick and is scheduled for June 7, 2025, at 7 PM, at the Portuguese Cultural Centre, 959 Division St., Kingston. The $150 event ticket includes all-you-can-eat lobster, wine during dinner, salad, and dessert, along with a night of live music, entertainment, a 50/50 draw, and an auction.
All money raised through the event goes directly to the charities chosen annually, with Partners in Mission Food Bank and Youth Diversion receiving the proceeds this year. Philippe Archambault, organizer of Lobsterfest and the owner of Symphony Spa & Yoga, chose this year’s charities based on their ability to support kids in the community.
Before running Lobsterfest, Archambault volunteered at the event when it was run by The Optimiste Club Frontenac BFC Kingston. When the club disbanded in 2020 during the pandemic, Archambault decided to take over Lobsterfest, as the money donated has made a significant difference in the community over the past 30 years.
Archambault likes to keep the event fun and stress-free with help from his volunteers and two regular chefs. For 30 years, the lobsters have been supplied by the same New Brunswick fishery.
