The Yorkton community is actively participating in a Back-to-School Backpack Drive to help local students prepare for the new school year.

Community members are donating school supplies to help local students return to class prepared. The Back-to-School Backpack Drive is collecting school supplies such as backpacks, binders, pencils, markers, rulers, loose leaf, calculators, pencil cases, folders, glue, scissors, and erasers to help local students start the year strong. Every donation, whether big or small, helps support families in the community.

The donation period is open until August 24, and community members can drop off donations at three locations in the community:

● The Flats Eatery & Drink, 275 Broadway St. E.
● Tantalize Tanning Studio, 77 Broadway St. W.
● Tapps Sports Lounge & Grill, 69 Broadway St. W.

The initiative aims to reduce some of the financial stress faced by many families during the back-to-school season by collecting backpacks and essential classroom items. All donated supplies will be distributed to students and families in need before classes begin, helping every child start the school year ready to learn.
