A group of students from Briercrest College are set to help the larger community in Moose Jaw with spring cleaning on April 11.
The students from Briercrest College will join local volunteers with a goal of helping the community by taking on small jobs across the city. Hosted by Briercrest College, “Serve Moose Jaw Day” will see teams spread out across Moose Jaw to help residents with everyday tasks. The students and volunteers will go around the city, helping people with jobs at their houses. Students will also participate in an organized cleanup at Wakamow Valley, picking up garbage left behind by visitors throughout the winter.
The students and volunteer teams will take on a range of spring chores, both indoors and outdoors, such as yard work like raking leaves and mowing lawns, painting fences and decks, cleaning homes by mopping floors or washing walls, and helping residents clean up high or hard-to-clean areas.
Serve Moose Jaw Day helps people in the community who may need help but are often overlooked, and the participation from students helps them connect with the community at a young age. The majority of the volunteers are Briercrest students, joined by people from local churches and community groups in Moose Jaw.
