After tasting success last year, the Stoughton community is getting together again to raise funds for the community complex, which will feature a skating rink, a swimming pool, and a curling club.
Stoughton is a community of approximately 700 people located east of Weyburn, in Saskatchewan. The inaugural Stoughton Community Complex Fundraiser last year welcomed 230 people and raised $60,000 for the community complex in Stoughton. The organizers are aiming for a bigger and better turnout this year and more support from local businesses, surrounding businesses**, and community members**.
The fundraiser is scheduled for April 18 at the Stoughton Community Complex and will feature entertainment, supper, a 50/50, a cash bar, and live and silent auctions, with tickets priced at $40 each. The evening features entertainment by Double Vision, a twin-brother comedy/magic show from Saskatchewan.
Community fundraisers like these help support important places such as the Stoughton Community Complex, which is like a second home for many in the community. Especially in small towns, community complexes like the Stoughton Community Complex bring people together for activities like skating, curling, hockey, and lessons. The money raised by the community stays in Stoughton for the community and helps keep programs affordable while maintaining and improving the facility. Overall, events like this fundraiser play a big role in keeping the community strong and connected. For more information, refer to the Stoughton Community Complex Fundraiser’s Facebook page.
