Businesses in Medicine Hat pitched in with time and support to welcome athletes and visitors to the recently concluded Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.

Local businesses highlighted the community spirit as they volunteered to welcome athletes, coaches, families, officials, and supporters to the city for the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games from Aug. 11 to 15. Owners and representatives from hotels, restaurants, shops, gas stations, and other businesses volunteered their time and efforts to support the Games and helped the Medicine Hat community show what makes it a welcoming place.

Volunteers from local businesses helped the Games run smoothly with important tasks such as registration, parking, and transportation, ensuring athletes, families, and visitors got where they needed to be. Many hours of behind-the-scenes work by business representatives helped make the large event successful.
