Eleven-year-old Anders Lee recently organized his annual lemonade stand to collect an impressive $1,682 for the Victoria Hospitals Foundation.
Anders spent Aug. 17 selling lemonade, ice cream, 3D-printed keychains, and fidget toys from his annual lemonade stand in Gordon Head, in Greater Victoria, continuing the yearly effort he began in 2023.
So far, young Anders has raised an impressive $8,578 for the Victoria Hospitals Foundation.
After his father, Kevin, died from a brain aneurysm on Aug. 17, 2022, Anders decided to set up his lemonade stand in memory of his father. His endeavour was also directed toward showing appreciation for the five weeks of care Anders received in neonatal intensive care after being born prematurely.
Danielle Mulligan, the foundation’s manager of events and annual giving, shared that many people have been won over by Anders and his mission. Anders’ lemonade stand has brought people together around kindness, generosity, and support for local health care.
