Partners of the Christmas Hope campaign helped families in need by coming together to lighten financial stress and spread joy during the Christmas season.
All seven agencies, including Interfaith Food Bank, Shop of Wonders, Salvation Army, Lethbridge Food Bank, Volunteer Lethbridge, Golden Giving Tree, and Angel Tree, got together to ensure that less fortunate members of the community received everything they need to feel hope and joy during the Christmas season.
With community support, the campaign supported over 8,800 individuals in Lethbridge and area, providing 5,300 toy bundles and serving over 3,500 adults, including 207 seniors, to ensure everyone enjoyed a Merry Christmas.
With high living costs, inflation, and ongoing economic uncertainty, many families are still struggling to afford basic needs and holiday gifts. The Christmas Hope campaign helped bring joy to these families by making sure presents were available during the holiday season. However, the need remains high even after the holidays, and partner organizations still need support to continue helping the community. Interfaith said the campaign was made possible by nearly 1,400 volunteers who gave more than 11,000 hours in December, showing the strong kindness and generosity of the community.
