Belairdirect has renewed its longstanding partnership with Breakfast Club of Canada, committing to help serve an estimated 500,000 nutritious school breakfasts across Canada, including in First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities.
The Canadian insurance provider has committed $1 million to Breakfast Club of Canada to help alleviate hunger at school. The donation will be completed over two years, from 2026 to 2027, and will help address the challenge of rising food insecurity across Canada. From 2018 to 2025, Belairdirect donated more than $3.3 million and served about 1.6 million school breakfasts. The recent donation from the insurance provider will expand support to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities and high-needs areas across Quebec, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada.
Food insecurity in Canada currently impacts nearly 2.5 million children, especially within Inuit communities in Nunavik, where almost 80% of households face food insecurity, nearly six times higher than the Canadian average. In Indigenous communities, 39.9% of individuals who are Inuit, Métis, or First Nations experience food insecurity, compared to 25.5% of the total population.
Belairdirect is a proud Canadian insurance provider that has offered comprehensive insurance solutions for over 70 years. Since 1994, Breakfast Club of Canada has been working with partners across multiple sectors to help children access nutritious breakfasts and reach their full potential.
