The community of Armstrong, B.C., got together for the Vienna Classic Charity Golf Tournament in honour of Vienna, with 100% of the funds raised going toward the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

The Vienna Classic may be named after Vienna, but its purpose is to support children across British Columbia. It all started as a small community idea in Armstrong and has grown into a meaningful event that now brings people together to help make a difference in the lives of B.C. children. The tournament reflected how a local community can come together and turn a simple idea into something that benefits children across the province.

The Vienna Classic event was created to support BC Children’s Hospital in honour of Vienna’s courageous journey with OMS. The tournament took place on Sept. 19 and was all about community, compassion, and coming together to support children and families who need it most.

The small community effort in Armstrong found support from generous people and businesses from the Okanagan, Alberta, and even California. Organizers say they are deeply grateful for every donation, sponsorship, prize, and contribution. Each act of support helped build a community effort that will make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.

The Vienna Classic was supported by businesses, organizations, families, and individuals who wanted to become part of this amazing cause. Prize donations for the live and silent auctions were greatly appreciated and helped raise even more funds for BCCHF. Though this was its first year, the organizers hope to make the Vienna Classic an annual event that continues to honour Vienna while giving back to the children of B.C.
