A new Youth Side Hustle program by Community Futures Sun Country (CFSC) is helping young entrepreneurs realize their business ambitions.
The Youth Side Hustle Program is a free, hands-on program for young people ages 12 to 18 in the Sun Country Region who want to turn their ideas into small businesses. The program helps youth turn their ideas into reality**, such as** selling art, baking, fixing bikes, or simply offering a service. It includes seven online lessons covering aspects like planning a business, branding, and budgeting, along with support for mental health and understanding different needs. Participants also get one-on-one mentoring to guide them along the way. After finishing the program, each youth receives $150 to help grow their idea and can showcase their work by submitting a photo of their side hustle.
The Youth Side Hustle Program is open to young people in communities served by Community Futures Sun Country, based in Ashcroft and covering a wide rural area from 70 Mile House to Hope and from Logan Lake and Savona to Gold Bridge and Bralorne. The program aims to give young people in rural areas valuable skills and new opportunities while also supporting local communities.
