Amazon is celebrating Canada Day by contributing more than $250,000 to local organizations that strengthen neighbourhoods, create opportunities, and help communities thrive.
Amazon is contributing to organizations that address urgent needs and create new opportunities in the areas of food security, youth programming, workforce development, and support for veterans and military families.
In the GTA, Amazon contributed $50,000 to Caledon Community Services to help sustain the region’s first mobile food pantry for residents in need. Amazon is supporting veterans, military families, and Indigenous communities through a $25,000 contribution to a Canadian company called Many Ways to Serve, which supports military members, veterans, and their families through initiatives in Halifax.
Amazon is contributing another $25,000 to the Ottawa Mission to create pathways to stable employment in Ottawa. The program equips individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness with the hands-on skills and certifications needed to work as building maintenance and operations workers.
In B.C., Amazon is providing a $50,000 community grant to Directions Youth Services in Greater Vancouver to support youth in crisis. Amazon is also providing a first-year $25,000 community grant to Mission Possible to expand access to dedicated coaching, training, and on-the-job work experience for Canadians.
Amazon is contributing another $50,000 to help GTA youth access recreation, transit, and nature-based learning, along with a $35,000 contribution to Evergreen Brick Works to support nature-based education and outdoor learning for equity-deserving youth in Toronto.
