The Community Foundation of Lethbridge & Southwestern Alberta recently celebrated its 60th anniversary by offering grants to 60 community groups in the region. The CFLSA Foundation donated just over $589,000 in the latest round of grants.
The event, titled the Spring Grants Celebration, was part of the foundation’s 60th anniversary celebration. Eleven organizations received a one-time donation of $6,000 each for inclusive, free, and accessible community celebrations.
The Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta is a registered charity and has been supporting communities across Southwestern Alberta since 1966. It is one of Canada’s oldest community foundations, connecting donors with charities and community projects they care about.
Over the years, the foundation has grown its endowment fund to more than $65 million, with the goal of providing long-term support for local charities and community programs. To date, it has donated over $24 million back into the community.
