Wrestlers in Prince George recently stepped into the ring for a fundraising wrestling match to help the people of Quesnel after a fire destroyed their local food bank. The local community is pitching in with donations and supplies for the Nourish Food Bank, destroyed by fire on May 5.
Steve Ingraham, a wrestler also known as the Barlow Creek Butcher, grew up in Quesnel and has known the food bank to be a part of his community since he was a kid. Ingraham participated in wrestling matches to collect donations and food supplies to help the Quesnel food bank affected by fire.
Ingraham wrestles with Prime Time Wrestling at the Prince George’s Civic Centre. Over the past two years, Prime Time Wrestling has helped raise over $30,000 for charity through its events. On May 16 and 17, Prime Time Wrestling held a food drive at their wrestling matches. All the money and food collected were delivered to Quesnel on May 21 to support the community during this difficult time.
The Nourish Food Bank has supported 500 to 700 households each month and provided lunches three days a week for people in need.
