Tim Hortons recently partnered with Special Olympics Canada to create a limited time Special Olympics Donut, available from January 31st to February 2nd. The initiative, known as the Special Olympics Donuts Drive, donated 100% of the proceeds to local Special Olympics community programs, helping support thousands of athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Canada.
Since 2016, Tim Hortons has been a proud partner of Special Olympics Canada, backing programs like ActiveStart and FUNdamentals that promote inclusive sports opportunities. The company has also hired many individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Special Olympics athletes, at its restaurants across the country.
This year’s Special Olympics Donut Drive raised a record-breaking $1.3 million to support the cause. Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons, expressed gratitude to restaurant owners and Canadians for their generosity in making the fundraiser a success.
