The Yukon Public Schools’ 2025 Millers Improving Local Lives (M.I.L.L.) Week raised $41,596 to help the Child Abuse Response Team (C.A.R.T.) bring the ROAR program to Yukon.

The ROAR program teaches young children how to stay safe and protect their bodies from abuse and will be introduced into Yukon schools this year. It uses fun, easy-to-understand lessons in classrooms or group settings. The C.A.R.T. House offers this program to elementary schools for children in pre-K to 2nd grade.

After moving to Yukon, the C.A.R.T. House has received strong support from local students and families. While $41,596 was raised during M.I.L.L. Week, the team also received a $20,000 matching grant from the Anderson Foundation, helping bring the ROAR program to all schools in Canadian County.

The C.A.R.T. House is a nonprofit organization that helps children who have experienced abuse and offers a safe, welcoming place for kids to receive special care and support services. You can contact the C.A.R.T. House for more information on volunteering at director@cancochildadvocates.org or (405) 422-3459.
