The Prince Edward Curling Club recently presented the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation with $45,363 for its Back the Build campaign.
The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation (PECMHF) is raising $30 million to build a new hospital in Prince Edward County. Scheduled to open in 2027, the new hospital will have a 24/7 emergency department, diagnostic imaging, cardio-diagnostic services, and 23 inpatient beds with ambulatory, laboratory, and dialysis services.
96 new and experienced curlers from the community participated in their third curl-a-thon last month and raised funds in support of the PECMH Foundation’s Back the Build campaign. Thanks to the generous donations, $23M of the total $30M has been raised.
Curlers solicited donations from family and friends as the local business community came through with food donations and prizes for the top pledge earners. The curling club provided ice time, equipment, instruction, and volunteers to help organize the event. The foundation has helped raise over $150,000 in the last three years.
The PECMH Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to raising funds to advance health care for the people of Prince Edward County and patients of the hospital.
