Lethbridge Program Helps People Facing Financial Difficulties

United Way of Lethbridge & South Western Alberta has announced the launch of a new program in southern Alberta that aims to help people make it through difficult financial situations amid the rising cost of living.

The Boost initiative was launched by the United Way of Lethbridge & South Western Alberta with support from ENMAX. The Boost initiative offers support to families facing financial hardship. Payment of overdue rent and utilities and assistance with food and hygiene needs are part of the support Boost aims to cover with the one-time fund.

ENMAX recently donated $50,000 to the Boost initiative to help launch the program. ENMAX supports similar community programs, such as the Basic Needs Fund and Lights On Fund, partnering with organizations making a local impact.

Those who want to apply must first reach out to local organizations like food banks and Alberta Works to explore other options for help. More details about the Boost program are available on the United Way website.
