IKEA Canada Offers Free Meals to Children on Wednesdays

IKEA Canada has cut food prices at its stores for the month of August to support its guests in the fight against the rising cost of living. IKEA is also allowing children to eat free on Wednesdays.

The August offer is available to those with an IKEA Family card who are eligible for discounts. As per the August initiative, IKEA’s weekday restaurant prices have been cut by half for some dishes until the end of August, while children eat free on Wednesdays. IKEA’s initiative is meant “to help people stretch their budgets, nourish their families, and find a little more joy,” as per the retailer’s statement.

IKEA’s lowering of food prices for a limited time is good news for Canadians who love IKEA’s Swedish meatballs. In Canada, food prices have gone up a lot—by 31% since 2019—and grocery prices were still rising in June. IKEA says it’s trying to keep prices as low as possible, especially during these tough economic times.

IKEA’s reduction in weekday meal prices is available across many countries. A family of four in France can now enjoy a meal and get a 5-euro store voucher for just 6.96 euros ($11.12 CAD), much less than the old price of 19.9 euros ($31.63 CAD). This special IKEA food deal is available in Canada, France, Germany, the UK, and China.
