Residents of Pembina Valley, Manitoba, got together during their annual Food for All fundraising food drive. The donations were collected by Many Hands Resource Centre (MHRC) in Morden to support those experiencing food shortages.

MHRC is a non-profit organization that provides resources for the Morden community’s needs, such as access to food, social connection, and community support. Many Hands Food Bank supports over 120 families every week, including hundreds of children.

In Morden, the Food For All fundraising drive was held on April 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Gardenland Co-op. Community members were encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items and cash donations to help feed local families in need. As Gardenland Co-op donated $1,500 to the fundraiser, the event collected over $4,000 through contributions from the local community members.

The Food for All campaign continued in the coming week as the fundraising drive reached Altona on May 1, collecting donations for the Rhineland & Area Food Bank. On May 8th, the fundraising drive is scheduled at Winkler Gardenland Co-op, where donations will support the Winkler Food Cupboard.

CFAM Radio 950, The Eagle 93.5 and Country 88 hosted the event, urging the community to donate both non-perishable food items and cash donations to the local food bank.
