BMO Employees Donate $31 Million to Communities Across North America

BMO employees demonstrated remarkable generosity in 2024, with 90% participating in the bank’s 14th annual Employee Giving campaign. Together, they raised over $31 million for BMO’s strategic partner, the United Way, and thousands of other community organizations across North America. The campaign exceeded its $27 million donation goal, reinforcing BMO’s leadership in corporate philanthropy.

In addition to the $31 million raised through contributions by BMO employees, BMO added over $18 million in corporate pledges to local United Way chapters in cities like Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Milwaukee, and Los Angeles during the 2024 campaign, totalling $49 million. Over the past five years, BMO employees have contributed over $130 million to charities across North America through the annual Employee Giving campaign.

The 2024 Employee Giving campaign officially launched on Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in partnership with United Way. To mark the occasion, BMO hosted 21 community kit-packing events across 17 locations in North America. Over 1,200 BMO employee volunteers assembled nearly 11,000 care kits, including hygiene kits, cold weather kits, literacy kits, and snack packs. Every kit is tailored to the requirements of local communities and benefiting United Way and its partner agencies.
