BGC London Receives $20,000 Gift

Canada Life and Oak View Group recently gifted $20,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of London (BGC London) on the occasion of the club’s 70th anniversary.

The $20,000 will help to continue supporting the youth in the community while offering kids safe, enriching, and transformative programming. Canadian Olympic gold medalist Damian Warner, along with community leaders and BGC staff, was present at the occasion. Damian Warner played alongside the kids from the Boys and Girls Club of London.

Warner grew up in London and learned to play basketball at BGC London, igniting a lifelong passion for sports. He further shared that his experience at BGC London showed him the value of community, which has been equally important to him. Warner enjoyed the decathlon-inspired activities and connecting with the kids. He said that every camper at BGC London needs to know that by working hard, believing in themselves, and engaging in the community, they can go further than they ever imagined.

The donation to BGC London was made on the occasion of its 70th anniversary campaign.
