B.C. Man Sweeps Community Sidewalk for a Decade
Theron Phillips sweeping his building sidewalk (CTV News)

For over a decade, Theron Phillips from Vancouver has been doing his bit in his community by sweeping his building sidewalk every day. Phillips says to build a community, all it takes is everybody doing a little bit.

For more than 3500 days, Phillips has been sweeping the sidewalk once a day and keeping it clean of everything, like drug paraphernalia and what people throw out of their cars. When he has the health to do it and the weather permits, Phillips cleans his building sidewalk, inspiring his neighbours to do their bit when it comes to building their community.

Phillips is a former gallery manager who likes to combine little bits of shape and colour to create multimedia art. His actions have helped the area get cleaner due to a lot less litter, and his neighbours are inspired to volunteer around the building, which is why he plans to keep sweeping every day he can.
