53-year-old Trevor Redmond from Nova Scotia is travelling across Canada on a mission to motivate others to be active. He has walked an impressive 11,421 km, taking over 15 million steps, and cycled 14,632 km, covering a total of 31,353 km across Canada to date. His initiative of travelling across Canada by running, walking and cycling is inspiring people to move and do what they need to.
Redmond, who is popularly known as the “Fellow in Yellow”, set out on his journey to cover Canada from Halifax on March 26. Through a combination of walking, biking and running, Redmond has moved through Newfoundland, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, Quebec, and Ontario already. He wants to encourage Canadians to appreciate and use their physical capabilities as much as they can.
Throughout his journey across Canada, Redmond has kept his needs simple, relying on food, water, and shelter. He has also experienced the kindness of strangers through their support and donations along the way. Supporters can contribute through his website or Facebook page, and the money raised through donations will be shared with healthcare-related charities.
