By the time he was 8 years old, he was already 6 feet tall and before grade 7, he was over 7 feet. He comes from a tall family with his mother, father, and brother all standing at over 6 feet, so he had plenty of support from his family while working with the problems that come with being a tall individual. As he entered college as a freshman in Florida, he stood at 7 foot 9 inches, making him the tallest college player in the nation.
