In a remarkable display of generosity and community spirit, the 25th annual Corus Radiothon made history by raising a record $1.95 million in support of the Stollery Children’s Hospital. This milestone achievement highlights the strong commitment of donors and supporters in the well-being of children and families in need.
Hosted by Megan Wenger from the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and presented by Great Canadian Roofing, Siding, and Windows, the Corus Radiothon serves as a vital fundraising event for the renowned children’s hospital. Each year, funds that are raised through the radiothon are used to enhance patient care, support groundbreaking research, and improve facilities at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
The impact of these donations extends beyond Edmonton’s borders, reaching children and families across Western Canada and beyond. The Stollery Children’s Hospital offers innovative programs that continue to provide life-changing care to patients from Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the three territories.
Over the course of the two-day radiothon broadcast, more than 40 families shared heartfelt stories of hope and healing, outlining the profound impact that donations make on the lives of patients and their loved ones. These stories serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of community support in ensuring that every child receives the care and support they deserve.
Since the first annual Corus Radiothon in 2000, over $30 million has been raised to support the Stollery Children’s Hospital. These funds have helped reduce wait times for comprehensive care through various programs including around-the-click mental health support, expanded support hotlines, and state-of-the-art medical facilities.
