Eight food banks across Canada received a refurbished, retired Purolator delivery truck to help them serve more people in need. This initiative is a part of Purolator’s nationwide Tackle Hunger campaign, which supports food banks delivering food to people in need.
Purolator’s trucks will help food banks reach more individuals and families who need food support. The program builds on Purolator’s 2024 donation of a truck to Feed Scarborough, which was turned into a food truck to deliver hot meals directly to high-need neighbourhoods.
Along with donating eight trucks through its Purolator Tackle Hunger® program, Purolator’s employees, customers, and partners donated more than 2.6 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada in 2025, which is the highest total in the program’s history. Food Banks Canada says transportation is a major challenge for many food banks, especially in remote and underserved communities, and Purolator’s support arrived when demand is at its highest during the holiday season. The following food banks received a truck:
- Agapè Centre in Ottawa, Ont.
- Boston Bar North Bend Food Bank in Hope, B.C.
- Feed NB in Moncton, N.B.
- Harvest Manitoba in Winnipeg, Man.
- Moose Jaw and District Food Bank in Moose Jaw, Sask.
- North York Harvest in Toronto, Ont.
- The Ricochet Centre in Montreal, Que.
- Wood Buffalo Food Bank in Fort McMurray, Alta.
Purolator plans to expand its truck donation program in 2026 to help even more food banks get the transportation they need.
