North Vancouver Reclaims Title of Canada’s Most Livable City

For the second time, North Vancouver, backed by its vibrant public spaces, access to nature, and strong community spirit, has been named Canada’s most livable city by The Globe and Mail. With its vision to become the Healthiest Small City in the World, North Van continues to shape a thriving and connected community.

Multiple factors helped North Vancouver retain the title, as the city focuses on building connected, welcoming neighbourhoods where people feel they belong. Surrounded by mountains, forests, and the coastline, nature is a big part of everyday life and helps support people’s health and well-being.

The North Vancouver community stood out among 454 cities across Canada studied by The Globe and Mail using 58 factors in areas like the economy, housing, health care, safety, education, and transportation to help people decide where to live. In the North Van community, 74% of residents feel a strong sense of belonging, 84% have a regular health-care provider, crime levels are lower than the national average, the area is more walkable, and it is more diverse than many other places in Canada. North Vancouver stood out as the first choice for Canadians where families settle down, seniors stay connected, businesses grow, and newcomers quickly feel at home.

The city has updated community infrastructure, and upcoming projects also reflect the city’s commitment to health, well-being, and shared prosperity.
