Kamloops Hosts its First-ever Blind Hockey Event

Kamloops and area residents with vision impairments recently got an opportunity to try out the sport of blind hockey at McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre on February 17.

The free event was hosted by Canadian Blind Hockey in partnership with the Kamloops Storm, allowing blind or partially sighted community members to try the sport of blind hockey.

Matt Morrow, the executive director of Canadian Blind Hockey, shared that blind hockey is growing at an incredible pace across British Columbia, and their partnership with the Vancouver Canucks continues to elevate awareness provincially. The event in Kamloops helps reach even deeper into the community.

Canadian Blind Hockey has hosted more than 300 such events in communities across Canada as it celebrates 15 years of existence. Last year, the organization announced a partnership with the Vancouver Canucks to grow the sport of blind hockey. The Kamloops event invited everyone interested to participate through pre-registration.
