Island Cycle Relay to Raise Funds for Childhood Cancer

A team of cyclists will ride over 1,000 km from Victoria to Port Hardy and back in less than 48 hours from June 16 to 18 to raise money for local families affected by childhood cancer.

Cyclists will operate in small rotating teams of two to three and will take turns riding 50 km segments day and night over a 48-hour window. The cycling event in Victoria aims to raise funds in support of the Island Kids Cancer Association (IKCA). The money raised will help families dealing with financial stress, lost income, travel costs, and long periods of separation while a child receives treatment in another city.

This is the second edition of the End2End Cancer Relay, which raised more than $110,000 during its successful debut in 2025. The event was created by Andy Dunstan and is organized with the support of Trek Bicycle Store Victoria, along with volunteers, cyclists, sponsors, and community members from across Vancouver Island. The funds raised through the event go directly to support families in need, as the event is entirely volunteer-run, with no paid staff, and the operating costs are covered by sponsors.

The event delivers a simple message of Islanders helping Islanders during some of the most difficult times in their lives.
