The second annual Friends and Fairways Golf Tournament has helped raise $122,395 for a new integrated health-care facility in Esterhazy.

The Friends and Fairways golf event at Esterhazy Golf Course was a big success, raising $20,000 more than last year. The event featured a special helicopter flyover, with numbered golf balls dropped onto the first hole as part of the 50/50 jackpot, with the ball closest to the pin winning.

The event drew about 80 golfers, 30 volunteers, and many sponsors who put on a great show, bringing in people from communities such as Saskatoon and Regina. The funds raised will support the Esterhazy and District Health Care Committee’s fundraising efforts for a new integrated health-care facility that will replace St. Anthony’s Hospital and Centennial Special Care Home.

The organizers shared that the fundraiser is about more than raising money, as it also helps recruit and retain doctors and health-care workers and brings attention to the community’s need for strong local health-care services. The new facility would not only improve health care in Esterhazy but also help support the region’s growing population, older residents, and local workforce.
