BASF Program Helps Growers Give Back to Their Communities

BASF’s Fields of Purpose program is helping growers give back to communities by donating $100,000 worth of agricultural products across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.

The program supports community-led projects where local farmers grow and harvest crops, and all of the food produced is donated to help rural communities and local organizations in need.

The BASF Fields of Purpose program in Canada helps farmers and retailers run harvest fundraisers where 100% of the crop proceeds are donated to local charities, like food banks. BASF supports these efforts by providing products such as fungicides and other resources, helping farmers get the most from their crops while giving back to their communities.

In 2025, BASF donated $100,000 worth of seeds and crop protection products through its charitable fields. These donations are made possible with the help of farmers, retailers, agronomists, and agricultural companies across Canada. BASF Vice President Leta LaRush said the company is proud to work with Canadian farmers, their communities, and the causes that matter most to them.

In 2025, the program supported 36 initiatives, including the Leduc & District Growing Project, whose September harvest fundraiser raised money for the Canadian Food Grains Bank.
