The Family Place in Weyburn received a $10,000 donation from Vermillion Energy to expand the green space at The Family Place’s support centre located at McLelland Drive.

The expansion will enable children to have access to more green space at the facility, and families in the community can use the space in the evenings. The Family Place believes that learning and growing with children is important for families and that strong families can build strong communities.

The Family Place is a charitable organization funded by the community that aims to improve the quality of life for children in the community. The organization offers early learning programs, parenting education, family wellness and support, and a free clothes closet for children up to the age of 12. The centre also offers information and referrals to families in Weyburn and the surrounding areas.

The $10,000 donation is part of Vermillion Energy’s ongoing commitment towards the green space at the community support centre. Last year, The Family Place introduced a sensory garden in the front of the green space, and the latest donation will allow the centre to expand and possibly allow community gardens in the garden boxes.
