SaskEnergy’s Share the Warmth Program Helps the Vulnerable

SaskEnergy’s Share the Warmth program is offering $100,000 in grants to help community groups support Saskatchewan’s most vulnerable residents this winter. During the freezing months, a warm meal and a safe place to stay can make all the difference.

Through this program, community organizations can receive up to $1,000 each to provide essentials such as food, shelter, clothing, and mental health support to people in need across the province. For the second year in a row, SaskEnergy is providing $100,000 in grants to community organizations that offer vital services during the coldest months. One of last year’s recipients, the Meadow Lake Homeplate Shelter Coalition, said the funding helped keep its emergency shelter running, providing people not only with a warm place to stay but also a hot meal and a sense of dignity.

Applications for the 2025–26 Share the Warmth program are now open. Charitable groups and organizations can apply for funding to support projects that fit the program’s goals until October 31. To celebrate the program’s success, SaskEnergy will also host Share the Warmth Days in early 2026, in partnership with grant recipients, to recognize their work and spread more warmth across Saskatchewan.

Last year, the program marked its 30th anniversary by supporting 106 projects in 104 communities, helping more than 105,000 people across the province. Since 2013, it has funded over 500 projects with more than $500,000 in grants.
