Since 1989, MultiCaf has been supporting low-income people in the Côte-des-Neiges area by providing food assistance, social connections, and resources tailored to their needs.
The charity organization MultiCaf runs programs throughout the year to help hundreds of low-income individuals and families eat well by offering affordable meals and food services. Their community space gives people a place to meet others and feel less alone. MultiCaf offers resources and services for people facing food insecurity in Côte-des-Neiges, Montréal.
MultiCaf’s Community Cafeteria offers free breakfasts Monday to Friday (around 9 – 10:30 a.m.) and hot lunches at $2.50 (just $1 for children), providing over 300 meals daily to individuals and families in need. Their Solidarity Grocery Store allows people to pick their food items with dignity by paying a modest fee starting around $7, thereby supporting autonomy and social inclusion.
The organization’s Mobile Fresh Produce Markets bring affordable, locally grown fruits and vegetables to six key locations in the neighbourhood. Their Summer Fruit & Vegetable Market offers seasonal produce in summer to encourage healthy eating. The charity’s street outreach program offers meals, showers, referrals, and support to people experiencing homelessness and helps them transition off the street into permanent housing.
Their collective kitchens enable people to come together and cook, learn, and share meals. MultiCaf also prepares and sends meals to other community organizations, including seniors’ centres and support groups, and their Formula Milk Program ensures families with infants have access to formula.
With almost 35 years of experience, MultiCaf understands the needs of the Côte-des-Neiges community and is helping hundreds of individuals and families eat nutritiously while building connections and independence.
