A London organization called 519 Pursuit, which helps people experiencing homelessness, has won $1,500 through The BIG Holiday Giveback, in recognition of its work supporting those facing homelessness and food insecurity.

Run mostly by volunteers, 519 Pursuit delivers over 1,000 meals each week to Londoners in need and provides care packages that include tents, blankets, backpacks, snacks, and clothing. Started in 2017 by Allison DeBlaire and Amber Irvine, 519 Pursuit’s approach is based on friendship and empathy, meeting people experiencing poverty and homelessness where they are and helping them reconnect with a supportive community.

519 Pursuit received a $1,500 Downtown Dollars Gift Card for winning The BIG Holiday Giveback campaign, an initiative launched by Downtown London BIA in 2021. The campaign celebrates individuals and organizations making a real difference in their communities.

DeBlaire says the prize money will go directly to helping people without homes.
