Lethbridge First Responders Kickstart Sirens for Life Campaign

The leadership of Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services and the Lethbridge Police Service made a group donation on September 8 at the Lethbridge Plasma Donor Centre to kick off this year’s Sirens for Life campaign. The campaign aims to save lives through plasma and blood donation.

The Sirens for Life campaign highlights how powerful each plasma donation can be: for example, 50 donors can help save one crash victim, 130 donations can provide a year of treatment for someone with an immune deficiency, and just five donors can support a heart surgery patient. The campaign runs from September to December, and the community is encouraged to donate plasma at the Lethbridge Donor Centre. People can sign up at blood.ca by searching “Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services – SFL” or “Lethbridge Police Service – SFL.”

Canadian Blood Services wants to grow its donor base to one million people in the next five years, and the Lethbridge community is doing its part to support that goal. Donating plasma not only helps patients in need but also gives donors a sense of purpose and connection.
