This year’s Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign brought in record support for Blanche River Health, with nearly $39,000 from cookie sales and more than $6,000 in direct donations to the Blanche River Health Foundation (BRHF).
Half of all cookie-sale proceeds support the foundation, with the other half benefiting Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. This means almost $20,000 is going to each cause, and the direct donations push the foundation’s total benefit from the week to more than $25,000.
Kirkland Lake, Ontario’s two Tim Hortons locations saw exceptional participation. The east location ranked first in the region and climbed as high as third in Canada, finishing the week at number seven nationwide. The west location placed second in the region. Volunteers helped decorate thousands of cookies at both stores, contributing significantly to the campaign’s success.
Leadership at Blanche River Health noted that the strong turnout shows how much the community values keeping quality healthcare close to home. Residents, schools, and local organizations purchased and donated cookies throughout the week. Agnico Eagle stood out by purchasing more than 2,500 cookies and contributing over $6,000 directly to the foundation, making them the campaign’s largest supporter.
Community events added to the excitement, including a cookie-decorating challenge, school colouring contests, and a visit from Santa. Tim Hortons staff were also credited for their enthusiasm and hard work.
Funds raised will support priority medical equipment at Blanche River Health and help provide meaningful experiences for local youth through Tim Hortons Foundation Camps. The impact will be felt across Englehart, Kirkland Lake, and surrounding communities.
