Clarington’s ICONIC Supports Homeless in the Community

ICONIC is a community outreach organization based in Clarington that offers critical support and resources to people experiencing homelessness, substance use issues, or other challenges.

Integrated Community Outreach Network in Clarington (ICONIC) is a combination of local faith groups, service clubs, and charities in Bowmanville, Clarington that joined forces to support people without shelter during the harsh winter season. ICONIC provided warm spaces and a sense of community to the homeless during the day, along with a safe place to sleep at night.

ICONIC has been working with local organizations to build stronger connections and a better support system for people who need help. The organization offers free breakfasts, lunches, soup suppers, and coffee cafés while also providing access to food banks, warm clothing, and hygiene products to the vulnerable section of society.

The mayor recently appreciated ICONIC Members for their work supporting the unsheltered. During the winter, collaboration between churches, service clubs, and social agencies has helped many homeless people. ICONIC’s Winter Warming Centre, offering shelter and meals for those in need, operates nightly from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. at Liberty Street and Baseline Road in Bowmanville.
