Nespresso Canada has renewed its commitment to a greener tomorrow by retaining its partnership with Tree Canada for the fourth consecutive year. As the country’s largest tree-planting charity, Tree Canada has been working with Nespresso to support national reforestation and fight climate change. Until now, Nespresso Canada has donated $533,000 and has helped plant around 114,000 trees throughout Canada, promoting a greener and healthier future for Canada.
Nespresso Canada recently contributed $100,000 to Tree Canada’s “Operation ReLeaf” program, which focuses on restoring forests affected by natural disasters and climate change. Tree Canada’s tree planting program has supported communities in recovery efforts for over 20 years, helping enhance resilience and biodiversity in urban forests. Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Carlos Oyanguren, President of Nespresso Canada, emphasized the company’s commitment to reforestation, healthy ecosystems, and supporting local communities through strong partnerships like the one with Tree Canada.
Nicole Hurtubise, CEO of Tree Canada, expressed gratitude for Nespresso Canada’s support, stating, “Partnerships with committed sponsors like Nespresso Canada are incredibly meaningful to our organization. Nespresso Canada’s ongoing support helps us raise awareness among Canadians about the vital role trees play in our environment and communities and expand our impact nationwide.”
In 2023, Nespresso Canada also donated $100,000 to Tree Canada’s “Operation ReLeaf” program, with reforestation efforts planned in Manitoba and British Columbia for 2024. About 70,000 trees have already been planted in Manitoba’s Interlake region to help regenerate boreal forests destroyed by fires in 2021. Additionally, the Indigenous community members have been provided training in forestry operations as part of the initiative. Nespresso is supporting projects in British Columbia to address the impact of recent wildfires, including those in Elephant Hill (2017), McDougall Creek (2023), and Shetland Creek (2024).
Nespresso Canada employees actively support this initiative through Tree Canada’s “Partners in Planting” program, with over 100 employees participating in tree planting activities annually. During this fall alone, Nespresso employees have helped plant 250 trees in Quebec, 170 in Ontario, and 325 trees in British Columbia.
