July marks Walmart Canada’s annual giving campaign

Walmart Canada has launched its annual giving campaign to raise funds for Canadians in need by donating to the Canadian Red Cross. In July, Walmart customers can donate at checkout in stores and online to support the Red Cross. Funds raised will provide disaster relief, including emergency lodging, clothing, food, and personal items for people affected by emergencies in Canada. Walmart Canada is also contributing $1,000,000 to help communities in need.

The funds generated through this campaign are vital to building stronger and more resilient communities at a time when Canadians are facing more frequent and complex emergencies from fires, floods, and other unseen circumstances. Walmart is starting the campaign with a $1 million corporate donation. Over the past year, Walmart Canada and the Walmart Foundation have contributed to various domestic emergencies, including the 2023 Alberta Wildfires Appeal and the 2023 Nova Scotia & Atlantic Canada Wildfire Appeal, helping thousands of Canadians affected by disasters.

Walmart Canada is the largest corporate partner of the Canadian Red Cross. Over the last 21 years, Walmart Canada, its associates, and customers have raised over $70 million for disaster preparedness and crisis support.

The Canadian Red Cross helps people before, during, and after disasters, supporting communities in Canada and worldwide to strengthen their resilience. With over 400 stores across Canada, Walmart serves 1.5 million customers daily. Its online store, Walmart.ca, also attracts 1.5 million daily visitors. With over 100,000 employees, Walmart Canada is one of the country’s largest employers and is among the top 10 most influential brands.
