Over 30 girls from schools and local communities in Longueuil, Quebec, had the opportunity to learn golf at an all-girls clinic at Le Parcours du Cerf last month. This RBC program helps give underserved youth, such as these girls, an easy and welcoming way to get involved in golf.

The event was hosted by First Tee – Quebec and She Plays Golf, with support from RBC Community Junior Golf. The day ended with a hot dog lunch and a friendship bracelet activity, giving the girls a chance to connect and celebrate the start of summer. First Tee – Quebec and She Plays Golf aim to get more girls involved in golf by creating safe and welcoming spaces where they can gain confidence, learn new skills, and stay engaged with the sport.

The event allowed the young girls to play on a real golf course and learn life skills through the sport. RBC Community Junior Golf will enable them to continue learning golf at no cost, with fees and equipment covered. The Longueuil clinic introduced nearly 3,500 girls to golf this spring and intends to continue that momentum with more summer programs. Both organizations are committed to breaking down barriers and empowering young girls through golf.

Since 2021, RBC Community Junior Golf has engaged over 55,000 participants by offering no-cost First Tee programming and has provided over 65,000 subsidized rounds of golf to Canadians 18 and under.
